Hi I'm Rhiannon.

Hey! My name is Rhiannon. I was just called to serve a mission! I love music, laughing, family and friends, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Alberta, Canada, and am currently serving a full-time mission in the Virginia Chesapeake mission! I love any kind of music, doing fun things, spending time with people, and learning anything new. I love the gospel, and I love being a missionary. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with my life when I get home, but I know that God has a plan for me, and that with His help, I can accomplish what I need to.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS church, and I plan on staying in it for the rest of my life. I have read the Book of Mormon, pondered its teachings in my heart, and I have asked Heavenly Father if it's true. And i know that it is. I have tried to apply the teachings of the church into my life, and I cant even explain how many blessings I have seen from that. I know that this church is true, and I have no problems in proclaiming that fact. This church has done so much good in my life. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints does NOT mean that your life will be perfect, or easy, or simple. But it brings blessings, and teaches you the skills you need to survive the trials that we all face in life. Heavenly Father didn't leave us here stranded to figure everything out on our own. He gave us clear instructions that teach us how to have peace in this life and eternal happiness in the life to come. And I have come to know that for myself.

How I live my faith

I try to spend my life being an example to those around me. I have lots of non-LDS friends that I am very close to, and I love spending time with them. When I do, I make sure that I follow the standards set by the church and set an example for the people I'm with. As a missionary, I live my faith every minute of every day, and I've never loved anything more. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a way of life that I am excited to keep living!

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Rhiannon.
We pay 10% of what we earn (tithing) because Heavenly Father has asked us to. All tithing we pay does not go to church leaders, or anyone else. It goes towards the building of official church buildings, and other things that the church needs to function (manuals, etc). We are promised in the scriptures that if we pay tithing, we will be blessed. There are thousands of accounts given by faithful members of the church that tell of the blessings they have received because of tithing. Our world and everything in it does not belong to us. We have been created, and everything around us has been created by Jesus Christ. He made all these things for us to live on, and to work with, and to do. If He has given us so much, is it really a trial to give up 10% of everything we earn for His work? I think it is more of a responsibility and a blessing. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Rhiannon.
Yes Mormons are Christians. Christian means that you believe in Jesus Christ, and we definitely do, as the name "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" suggests. Jesus Christ is the keystone of our religion. We base almost everything we teach on the teachings of Christ, and what he wants us to become. Show more Show less
