Hi I'm Craig

I am from Provo, Utah. I attend BYU. I play football. I'm from a family of seven. I love the Gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of four boys and I have a little sister. I have 3 sister-in-laws and a niece and two nephews. My family is very close and we love being together. I love my family very much and they are the most important thing in my life. They are supportive in all that I do and I am grateful for them. I love football, playing sports and being active in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I attend Brigham Young University where I play football and I hope to be in the business program in the future. I served my 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ventura, California where I learned Spanish. It was the most rewarding experience up to this point in my life. It helped me to experience first hand the blessings that come from giving service to others and the apparent difference that faith in Jesus Christ brings into our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born my parents were already members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Growing up we always prayed together and read the scriptures together. It was second nature for me to do these things with my family. As I got older I realized that I got into the habit of just doing these things to do them. There was no depth behind them. As I was trying to truly come closer to Jesus Christ and come to know Him and my Father in Heaven, I turned to the Book of Mormon for direction. I remember reading from the Book of Mormon and recognizing changes in my life. I didn't receive a huge manifestation from an angel but through the evidence of living the teachings of Jesus Christ in my life, I came to know the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I came to know for certain that there comes peace and hope when I did what the Lord had modeled for me. I came to know for myself that the teachings of the prophets, ancient and modern, are the words of the Lord for me and when followed and applied in my life, I can know for a surety I am on the path that leads back to my Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. I know that God is my Father and that Jesus Christ is His living son. I know that the Book of Mormon contains the word of God and is true. The Holy Ghost is real and he speaks through feelings of peace and comfort. The Lord's love has know boundaries.

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints provides me many ways to stay active and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. There are a ton of opportunities to serve people in my community. I have been able to volunteer to serve the people in my local church and from this service I have felt God's love. Right now, I volunteer to teach about the teachings of Jesus Christ during worship services on Sunday. As I prepare lessons I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon to find examples and teachings that will help us come closer to God and have happiness in our lives. By reading scripture and thinking about the needs of others I have grown spiritually and come closer to my Father in Heaven.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

God loves us so much that he has men inspired by Him to direct us and to help us feel of His love for us. This talk by one of His disciples helped me to come to know my relationship with God more. He knows us personally and he has a personal plan for us. By hearing His word through men called by Him I have been able to come to know Heavenly Father in a personal way. http://www.lds.org/general-conference/2011/10/you-matter-to-him?lang=eng Show more Show less
