Hi I'm Chris

I'm from Provo Utah, I have a football scholarship to play safety at Notre Dame, I served a mission in Ecuador. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is the most important thing in my life, i have 3 brothers and 2 sisters. My mom and my dad are my heroes. I want to follow my fathers example and become a doctor, he is a cardiologist. We love playing sports and being outdoors. I grew up playing baseball, ski racing, but my true passion has been football. I grew up watching my older brothers play and i was able to help my high school team win 3 straight state championships. I have a football scholarship to play safety at the University of Notre Dame, I decided to put football and my studies on hold to serve as a missionary in the Ecuador Guayaquil South Mission. I recently returned and am preparing to return to Notre Dame for the 2012 football season. My goals in life are to always follow Jesus Christ, and to become a great husband and father in the future, i want to be a great student and a great football player.

Why I am a Mormon

I was really blessed to be raised and able to learn of the church from my parents. I grew up attending church and have always loved going on Sundays as a family. My father baptized me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when i was 8 years old. As I think back, all of the things I learned growing up in the Church have shaped me into who I am today. I have always had a strong feeling that the church is true, but I came to really know it for myself when i started to read the Book of Mormon while i was studying and playing football at Notre Dame, I prayed many times to know that it is true and have received an answer from God, every time i read the Book of Mormon I feel closer to Jesus Christ, I feel peace, I find answers to questions and problems that I have in my life and I know in my heart that it was translated by Joseph Smith a true prophet of God. That knowledge is what gave me the desire to leave everything in my life and go to Ecuador as a missionary, to teach others about the church and about how our families can be together forever through Christ's restored Gospel. My time as a missionary was the best time of my life and has really helped me come to love all people from other cultures and backgrounds, and also helped me to see Christ's love more in my life. I saw Christ's love in the lives of the people that I taught, Christ's Gospel changes peoples lives forever, I saw that as i helped people become baptized.

How I live my faith

I'm a big believer in the phrase actions speak louder than words. I try to show love and kindness in all that I do. I strive to serve others and am proud of the time I spent serving as a full time missionary in Ecuador. I have plans to return and do lots of humanitarian work. I try to be a role model for other youth in our community, especially young men that have dreams of playing college football like I do.
