Hi I'm Chet

I grew up down south with a protestant Christian background. I joined the Church as a teenager while living in Pensacola, FL.

About Me

I'm a husband and father. My wife, Linda, and I have been married for almost 23 yrs. We were high school sweethearts, so we've been together for almost 28 yrs. We have 4 children. Our oldest son will get married in about a month. He served a mission in Japan. Our next oldest son is currently serving a mission in Argentina. Our daughter is 13. Our youngest son is 8. I work with the Young Mens' organization at Church. I'm a scoutmaster for our local troop. We enjoy backpacking, camping and all the other outdoor activities available in Colorado. I'm a head & neck surgeon for the US Air Force. I've been in the Air Force since 1985 when I entered the US Air Force Academy. I graduated from the Academy in 1989 with a degree in engineering. I worked as an engineer for several years before changing careers and entering med school. I've been stationed at many stateside bases. I spent 3 yrs in Misawa, Japan, and I served a tour in Balad, Iraq. I'm now stationed at the Academy again. I grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, so I'm a die-hard Alabama football fan. Roll Tide!

Why I am a Mormon

As a teenager, I was searching for a church. I had been raised in a Christian family, and had attended many different churches. I loved the Christian values that I'd been taught, but I just felt that there was something more. I met some missionaries while living in Pensacola, FL. I initially had some misconceptions about the Church. I soon learned that the Church of Jesus Christ contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It supplemented the Christian teachings I had already received. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am thankful for modern-day prophets and revelation. I study from the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Both are true scriptures and testify of Jesus Christ. I've now been a member of the Church for 30 yrs. The Gospel has brought me true happiness. I'm so thankful for the blessings and protection my children have received as a result of adhering to Gospel standards. I want to share my story with others so they too will have the opportunity to learn about our loving Father in Heaven and His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I study the scriptures daily. I pray individually, and as a family, morning and night. I follow the Ten Commandments. I study and follow the teachings of ancient prophets, as well as modern-day prophets. I serve others. I spend my free time with my family. My goal is to be a good person, a good husband, and a good father.
