Hi I'm AmyJo

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of five beautiful children. When I have time, I like to make things to beautify my home, read a good book and camp with my family. I am currently taking voice lessons. It has given me an opportunity to develop a talent that I loved, but gave up on many years ago. I would also like to learn to play the guitar. I would also like to go back to school to get a BA, but not sure exactly what I want to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it just feels good! I grew up in the church and have always tried to live by what I have been taught. I always wanted some fantastic conversion story, but that never really happened. I have been blessed with the peace and comfort that this church I belong to, is the only true church here on the earth today. Life isn't and hasn't always been easy. I continue to go through challenges daily with my children and personally. I am grateful for the healing power of the Atonement and for the knowledge of a loving God and His Son that don't want me to fail! I am a daughter of God and I know he loves me!

How I live my faith

I live by this motto and believe I will be blessed for it, "be where you are supposed to be when you are supposed to be there." I love attending sacrament each week, because it is there that I can renew my covenants, be forgiven of my sins for the past week and promise to do better. I also try to live by the motto, "those that know me will know God." I am trying hard every day to strengthen my testimony, I make plenty of mistakes every day, but I am so grateful for the knowledge of the Atonement and what it can do for me and all those that believe in its promises, blessings and power!

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

When you dress modestly you are more likely to act respectfully, have cleaner thoughts and treat yourself like you are a child of God. In the scriptures it teaches us that our bodies are temples. I would never want to deface or graffiti the temple and since our bodies are a temple then I treat it as such. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

The temples are used for special and sacred ordinances. It is also a place where I can go and feel peace when I need to get away from the world and also where I can find answers to questions or problems that I may be facing. I love to be in the Temple..... for myself and for those that have gone on before. Show more Show less
