Hi I'm Carrie

I'm a new mom and love to shop, run and spend time with my friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a girly girl through and through. I love all things pink and sparkly. So being a new mom to a beautiful daughter has been the perfect fit for my life. Becoming a mom has been one of the single greatest joys in my life. I could have never imagined motherhood could be so rewarding. I graduated from Arizona State University in 2004. I come from a large family with five sisters and one brother. I believe that being a part of such a large and dynamic family unit has really molded me to become the person I am today. I love to go shopping with my friends and spend time at home with my husband and daughter. I love to run and train for half marathons.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up and live in a community that is largely populated with people of the LDS faith. My husband was raised in the church, so being familiar with the basic beliefs and cultural of the church was nothing new to me. I attended church here and there with my best friend growing up, but never had a deep understanding of the church and it's teachings. In the spring of 2010 (when my husband and were still dating), I asked if I could attend church with him. Since then, I faithfully attended every Sunday even on weeks when we wasn't available to go (due to his work schedule). I even began reading the Book of Mormon on my own. I had a deep desire to want to learn more about the church. In February 2011 we were married and I began taking the missionary discussions. I read my scriptures and I prayed everyday to know if baptism was the right choice for me. I waited for what seemed forever for an answer. Shortly after we were married, we were excited to find out that we were going to be expecting our first child. I confidently knew that I wanted to raise my children in the church, but I was still waiting to get my answer on if baptism was right for me. So I continued to pray and study my scriptures. I desperately wanted to find my testimony. The birth of my daughter changed everything for me. From the moment I saw her, I immediately had a strong testimony of family and the love my Heavenly Father has for me. I had no doubt there was a Father in Heaven who loved me. Six short weeks after she was born, my husband baptized me in the presence of our friends and family.

How I live my faith

I have always believed that the LDS faith centered around 4 core foundations: love, family, kindness and service. I know that if I keep these at the top of my priorities, everything else will fall right into place. My sister recently said that she has never known me to be happier. While, I attribute this to a wonderful marriage and a beautiful new daughter, I know that my love for the gospel and the knowledge that the church is true shines through. I was recently called to service with the youth (specifically, the young women) in our ward and I couldn't be more excited or honored to be able to lead these women each week. I want to be an example for not just them, but for my daughter as well. I want her to know that she is being raised by a woman who loves her Heavenly Father and the gospel. I want her to know that I live my faith by being an example.
