Hi I'm Natalie Sorenson

I have been a member my whole life. The gospel is my whole life. I am a wife and mother and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, friend, wife and mother. I was born in Chicago but was raised in Arizona. I love it here! I got married when I was 18 yrs old. I have a wonderful husband and 6 amazing children. Five daughters and one son. I love to walk and ride my bike, I love to plant flowers and garden. I love food! I love to cook and entertain.I have a small catering business that I started to earn extra money and be home at the same time. My girls work with me, which I really enjoy. I love doing things....anything...with my family. My own sisters and brothers and parents are very close. We love and support each other at all cost. At age 38 I suffered from "Sudden Adult Death Syndrom" - SADS. However, my kids were home when it happened and ran for help. I consider each and every day a gift. I have been given a 2nd chance at life and I DONT take it for granted. I love and appreciate the simple things in life. I love doing things with my friends. I love learning. I love people. I love nature. I love music. I love being alive.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into this great church. I have also been blessed with an unwavering testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I have never doubted it. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that it is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that by reading and following its teachings we draw closer to Christ, we are happier, we are better able to handle our adversities, we are more at peace and we can find answers to our everyday problems. I am a Mormon because I want to be one....because for me I can't imagine going through life without the gospel. I believe in its teachings with ALL MY HEART. I know that by following the Prophet and the Apostles we will be safe and happy. I know that God has not left us alone. He has blessed us with a living prophet...President Thomas S Monson to lead and guide us. I know that God lives and loves us more than we could ever comprehend. I know He sent His only begotten Son to set the ultimate example and lead the way back to HIm. I know Christ atoned and died for each one of us so that we can make it back to our Heavenly Father....depsite our weaknesses and shortcomings. I know if we submit our will to His, if we are obedient, if we are continually trying and working towards being our best self, repenting and forgiving, loving and living the best we can, that we can each return to His presence. I know that this life is a gift. Having our free agency if a gift. Having the scriptures and modern day prophets is a gift. I know and believe that happiness is a choice. I know that there is goodness and beauty in everyone. I know that I am a better person because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I consider myself to be very active in the church. I hold callings in my ward when I'm asked. I've been blessed to serve in each area of the church....Working with the children, the Young Women and the adult women and sisters. I have honestly loved every calling and try to do my best to serve the people I have stewardship over at that time. I have always been a visiting teacher and have always been blessed with great visiting teachers who have helped me and supported me and strengthened me through my adult life. I know that the church has been organized to help each of us on an individual basis. Right now I am in charge of teaching and planning activities for the young women of our ward. We have so much fun together. I love watching and listening to them and learning from each of them. I try to live my faith my being a good example to those I associate with and come in contact with. I try to share the gospel as best I can. We have regular block parties on our street where we as members can get to know our neighbors better and be available to them in times of need. We invite them to church activities. But the best way is to be a great friend. To serve them as often as possible. To be there for them. My oldest daughter is serving a mission right now for our Church. She is sharing the gospel far away from home. We miss her terribly but know she is doing a great work . She has left her family for a short time so that others can be with their families for eternity! What a great blessing that is! I live my faith by staying true to my beliefs and standards, even when it's not "cool" or "normal". I have no problem being different from others in my speech, the way I dress, the things I read or the movies I watch. I love who I am. I love that the reason I am who I am is because of the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
