Hi I'm Aris

Music and games are how I chill, service is essential, my family and friends are my drive, temples are the best, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I really enjoy music a lot! I love to play guitar in my free time and I love all kinds of music. I like to draw on occasion and I love the outdoors. Camping, fishing, you name it. Only problem is that I have been fishing over 100 times and have only caught one, little, 5 inch fish! WOOT! If I could spend all day playing video games or watching anime, I would! Like Halo, Star Wars, Kingdom Hearts, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, the classics haha But I know there a lot of things to be done that are more important like family, working, friends, etc. There are lots of people that say, "I don't like tomatoes, lettuce, meat, etc." Well, for me, food is food and I LOVE it all! My friends have called me a bottomless pit/Fatty for the way I eat and consume food without breathing :) They are probably right though. I love to be with my family and especially spending time with my brothers and sisters, they're the best. I am serving as a missionary in Irvine California and I am loving it! I am currently in Mission Viejo teaching the people in the Spanish language, which I am growing to love :) When I get home, I'm not really sure what I will do... but I will probably be going to college in the Fall of 2014 in Logan Utah at Utah State University.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I feel so blessed to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I have always loved going to church to feel the spirit of the Lord and learn more how I can better myself in this world and time that we live in today. The teachings of Christ have helped me achieve this desire I have, to learn and to grow. I love the people of the church and going to church every Sunday because of the friendships and responsibilities I have there. I love the Book of Mormon and I know that by Joseph Smith, a prophet of God, he was able to translate that book, the Book of Mormon, through his authority and power from God. I love the section 3rd Nephi and its history about the Savior visiting the Americas and administering to the people. It is my favorite part of the Book of Mormon because it is so powerful. To know more about this event, you can either read 3rd Nephi in the Book of Mormon or, if you are like me and don't like reading very much, you can watch a movie called, The Testaments One Fold and One Shepard. I would do both! I am currently serving a mission right now and loving every second of it :) By serving a mission for the Lord, I am able to help people learn about Jesus Christ and how they can become more like Him, to make promises with Him, and progress in the knowledge of the gospel. No other church has all these things that help me and others to become an example of Jesus Christ. This is why I am a Mormon :)

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and I go to mutual activities as much as I can on Wednesday nights (or I did before the mission). I was a home teacher and Ioved going home teaching because I had a great companion who really cared about what it was he was doing :) He has been sure an example and influence in my life and I love him so much. There are many things that I do that others look at as weird or strange, like not drinking coffee or serving a 2 year mission for the Lord. Life can be hard at times and I know that through my diligence in serving the Lord, I will be blessed. I follow the commandments because I love my Lord and Savior, and by doing His will, I am showing Him that I really do love Him. "I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." - 1 Nephi 3:7 (Book of Mormon)

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

It is so true. This is one of the most interesting things about The Book of Mormon for me personally because I love to read the words of Jesus Christ. In the Book of Mormon, in 3 Nephi 11-19, Jesus administers to the people by blessing them, teaching them the gospel, and healing those who were sick. I know the Savior loves all of us very much, so why wouldn't He go visit those in the Americas as He did the people in Jerusalem? Show more Show less
