Hi I'm Shelly

I'm a Mormon. My life is extraordinary because of this.

About Me

I am quite ordinary but feel like I live life in abundance. I am a mother and now a grandmother. I love to learn new things. Currently I am learning to play the piano. I enjoy cooking with grains, beans and vegetables. I have the opportunity to hike some of the most stunning mountain trails in the country. I am an avid reader and a life long learner.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Midwest. I had many childhood friends that shared in a belief of Jesus Christ. We were a support to one another. I gained a strong belief of the gospel of Jesus Christ while very young. It has been foundational in how I have chosen to live my life. I knew that there was a God by the time I was eleven years old. I realize now how profound that was. Had I not known this I believe I would not have made the choices and decisions that I have in my life. I believe that everything we experience in life is not wasted. Our perspective and faith in Christ brings us to an understanding that surpasses all.

How I live my faith

Currently I am honored to be a cub scout den leader. I never knew how young you feel when you associate with eight and nine year old boys! The best part of the scouting program is that you have permission to have fun! I have been doing this for six years and hope to do this for many more years to come. I am a visiting teacher. I think that this calling is the "action" part of what we do. It is a mentoring among women and it is amazing what you learn from one another. Being a part of an organization that has us apply principles we learn is a blessing.
