Hi I'm Kamalani G.M. Kaluhiokalani

I'm big, I'm brown, I love life, and I'm mormon

About Me

I served a full-time mission in Taiwan. I love going to the beach. Its really peaceful and gives me time to think. Sports were always a big thing in my family, although football demands most of my time, my family and faith are most important to me. My mother has always taught me to love God and to always follow him. Life is hard, but when you feel like walking, run harder.

Why I am a Mormon

Why not? I love this gospel with all my heart. It has brought so much happiness and joy to my family because we know that we can be together forever. The peace and comfort that this knowledge gives, just makes us love each other more. I grew up in the church and I always had a good feeling about the things they said, but nothing more. Then everyone around me was saying that they knew the church was true. How could you know? Really wanting to know for myself, if it was true or not, I Prayed and offered up the desires of my heart to God. I felt peace in my heart, but was not satisfied. The weeks following the prayer were the hardest weeks, emotionally, that anyone could endure, and still be sane. When all was presumed lost, and life felt as if it was the end, it felt pointless to keep the commandments if I was just going into the earth at the end of this life. Why not "live it up"? Then, while at a fireside, Elder Holland, of the Quorum of the Twelve Aposltes, and President Monson, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints, testified of the truthfulness and divinity of the this gospel. My heart was on fire. I knew that this gospel was true I knew that everything that was taught in childhood was true. It was the greatest feeling in the ENTIRE WORLD!!! I loved it, and knew immediately that feeling was from God. I now strive constantly to keep that feeling in my life and will 'til the day I stand in His presence.

How I live my faith

I am currently attending BYU and participating in collegian football. Being a member of this organization has helped me to serve many people in the community. This gospel founded on the Atonement of Jesus Christ has blessed my life dramatically. If you want to know how to be happier in life, just "ask the missionaries, they can help you." :)

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Kamalani G.M. Kaluhiokalani
The fact that I'm living. But besides that, all the emotions I feel, all the rushes, all the happiness, are all because I have a loving and living God that has blessed me to be able feel these things. Show more Show less
