Hi I'm Brooks

I'm a small town girl, I'm in the Navy, My prized possession is a Birthday card and, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Im eighteen years and I joined the Navy, I play guitar, I love art, photography, I exercise for fun sometimes (but not all the time) and I love the summer and Autumn times. Im still in high school awaiting my graduation soon. I am class president, compete in track, drama actress, Skills USA member and well I do just about anything that is offered to me. Im constantly busy doing something whether it be school, clubs, church or friends. Living in a small town you have to keep busy or trouble tends to find you more often than not. I have tons of member friends and also tons of non member friends, and I know a child of God is a child of God no matter what. Even though I love what the future holds for me I often time fear it, for the unknown is so frightening. However I manage to get by with a little faith! I have high expectations for myself, and I try my hardest to get where I want to be in life. Some times I stumble and fall but thats when my Heavenly Father comes.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a mormon since birth you could say, born into a mormon family, baptized at eight and attended regularly until I was about 13. I then became inactive and unconnected to anything the church had to offer. Those were the darkest years of my life, completely void of life, true happiness, comfort and direction. It was just a year and so ago that I came back, after some good member friends cared enough to stick with me in a trying time of my life, those who believed in me and were there for me no matter what, for I found that the friends that stayed around and didn't leave me stranded were those who wanted the light back in my life. It truly hit home when my sister told me out of the blue one day that she felt something was missing in my life, I knew that was the most true thing in my life. Im not going to say becoming active again was easy, because it was not, it was big struggle of peaks and down hills. Eventually I got there with the love and support of my family and friends but most of all the great difference I began to feel as the spirit entered into my life. Im a Mormon because I choose to be. I Choose to be a Mormon because the comfort it gives, the guidance, the happiness and most of all the peace in my mind. Having the gospel and the spirit in my life has been one of the main reasons I want others to know of it. The Gospel is true and it truly makes a difference in your life.

How I live my faith

I life the faith everyday by keeping in my mind my savior Jesus Christ who died for me, and I tried to live like he did; kind to everyone. I have daily scripture study both day and night, searching for answers to questions and learning more and more of the gospel. I pray as often as I can to keep in touch with my Heavenly Father above. I've been a youth leader, helped plan many activities for active and un-active youth. I love it the most when I do service for my fellow beings. You dont have to do large things to live the faith, sometimes its simply smiling to someone you pass, which I love to do. I live modestly, I do my best to keep the commandments always. I attend church, I attend LDS activities, I try to live like I should. Most of all though, I keep my faith the best by doing personal study. Reading the Book Of Mormon, speaking to my Heavenly Father, is the most delightful and helpful thing I do to keep the faith. Always with my Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ in mind I try to think of what they do and help others and treat others as they would treat them, with love.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Brooks
We like to help and support everyone, not just mormons ourselves. We believe that everyone is Gods children and deserve the same as we do. We serve others so that maybe one day they may see our good works and know that its our gospel and our spirit that help us be who we are. We work well with other mormons because we share the same beliefs just like another might think, but we enjoy serving all of Gods children, mormon or nonmember Show more Show less
