Hi I'm Steve

I'm a Mormon. Being as ordinary as a person can be, yet, I feel deeply loved by my Heavenly Father.

About Me

My life revolves around my family and my faith. Most everything I do has some connection back to these two priorities in my life. From the earliest days I can remember, I've been blessed with wonderful family relationships. My parents are strong, capable people who loved their children, taught us good principles and nurtured our emotional and spiritual development. They raised us to have faith in Jesus Christ, to learn of His life and to live a life after His teachings. Close friends also shared the same values and helped me hold to the way of life my parents taught their children. As I became independent and went away to college, I fell in love with a young woman whose life experiences were similar to mine and we married in the Temple of the Lord for time and eternity, a marriage which blesses my life everyday. As we started our own family, we knew the principles of faith, honesty, integrity, serving others and giving back to the community would bless the lives of our children, so we made a conscious decision to lives those principles and teach them to our own children. Having our own desires to live the gospel of Jesus Christ, we try each day to be an example of the believers, to live by faith if Jesus Christ, to pray daily to our Heavenly Father and look to him for our blessings. That faith sustains me, guides me and comforts me as I grow closer to my Heavenly Father and apply the atonement of his Son in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have faith that God lives and that He loves me. As a result, I want to know more about Him and the Savior. By studying the scriptures I learn how our Heavenly Father wants us to live by faith and return to His presence. In order to learn who God is, how I can come close to Him through Jesus Christ, I want to know that what I am learning is the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know God will speak to me, not in a voice from heaven, but through the Holy Spirit touching my soul, teaching my mind and softening my heart. Through that communication, I have felt in my heart that God loves me as tenderly as a parent loves a child. That Spirit has taught me that God does speak to man today, to individuals, to prophets just as in days of old. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church on the earth today. That that church contains the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and is the vehicle which can bring me closer to my Heavenly Father than any other church. I am a Mormon because I know in my heart and in my mind that God speaks to a prophet who lives today and continues to teach the gospel to those who have true faith.

How I live my faith

Faith to me is "action". In other words, a set of habits, daily behaviors and attitudes practices on a consistent basis which show that I am trying to live the teachings of our Savior. I show my faith that my Heavenly Father hears my prayers by getting on my knees at the beginning and ending of each day and giving thanks to Him who gave me life and asking for those spiritual and physical things I need to survive. When occasion allows, I try to serve others because Christ showed us how and instructed us to do likewise. Faith, to me, is a life lived according to the very teachings of the Savior and explained by the prophets. By living in very deed according to those teachings, I show my faith.
