Hi I'm Ashley

I'm 21 years old, I'm a convert and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the first of two children in my family. I am a convert and the only member in my family. I have a younger brother who is 17. My parents got divorced when I was 16 and in the middle of my Junior year of high school. I'm currently a preschool teacher and am working toward getting a degree in Early Childhood Education and Development. I am a 5th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and studied Martial Arts (Tae Kwon Do, Extreme Martial Arts, Mixed Martial Arts, and UFC) for thirteen years, as well as taught my students who were ages 3-Adult.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I met my husband when I was sixteen, he was eighteen, and he asked me what my religious background was. I told him I believed in God and Jesus Christ, but didn't attend church. After talking for a few minutes on the subject, he invited me to come to church. I started attending church and soon after started taking the missionary lessons. The first lesson I had was about the Temple and how families can be together forever. I have a testimony of this; that families can be together forever. This lesson connected with me because I come from a broken family and want everything for my family that I didn't have when I was growing up. One night after church, I had a dream, about a room and a man in the room. I explained my dream to the missionaries and they had told me that what I saw, was the Celestial Room.. and the man I saw was the man who introduced me to the church. The same man whom three years later, would become my husband. I know this church is true. I know that Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father are two seperate beings. I know that Christ sacrificed His life on the cross for us so that we might have joy and be able to repent and learn from out mistakes. I know that He did it because He loves us. I know that my Father in Heaven knows me and loves me individually and has a plan for me. I know I need to trust Him with everything and can turn to him with the smallest concerns, or the biggest and He will always be there. He will never lead me astray. I am grateful for the bravery and love of Joseph Smith for sharing the vision he saw of God the Father and His son in the Sacred Grove. I am grateful for our sweet prophet, Joseph Smith, for his words of wisdom and his ability to receive revelation from our Father in Heaven. I'm grateful for our apostles, stake presidents, and bishops who pray for us and serve us. I'm grateful for the strength this gospel has brought me.

How I live my faith

I stand as a whitness of God, at all times, and in all things, and in all places. I am not afraid to share my story of how I joined the church after having no religious background. I attend the temple as often as I can, and I serve others around me the best that I can. When life gets hard, I kneel. I show gratitude toward my father in Heaven for his great plan by loving all of His children equally, I thank my brother and Savior, Jesus Christ, for dying upon the cross for me, so that my bags of sins can be forgiven, daily.
