Hi I'm Matt

I'm a Father of 3, I'm married to an awesome Wife. I love Indie Rock, College Basketball, and great non-fiction. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado, and I've spent most of my life in the West: Colorado, Utah, California, and Washington state. I served a two year mission in Brazil, and after college I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I met my wife. Later we moved to Washington, and we have 3 beautiful children (yep, I'm biased!) that make us laugh, cry, and sometimes scream! We love them, and our lives are centered around them. I work as a financial advisor, and my wife has the tougher job of mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings happiness to my life. It provides a great framework for raising my children and prioritizing my marriage. It provides a great way to be a part of a faith community, and a chance to serve and help others. While there are aspects of the history of my church that I find troubling, I focus on how the church works for me and those around me, and how it encourages us to be better people.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by living a Christ centered life, but I fall short every day. That is why I am grateful for the grace of Jesus Christ. I am completely inadequate on my own, and we are flawed, but the atonement of Jesus Christ promises to make us whole, and work towards improvement. The challenging experiences in my life can thus work to my benefit; humbling me, teaching me, and helping me become a better person.
