Hi I'm Mark Yawney

I live in Banff National Park. I'm a husband & father. I love the outdoors and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of 3 wonderful children and a husband to my beautiful wife. In my spare time I love mountain biking, x-country skiing, snowboarding, swimming and photography. While I love these activities I enjoy nothing more than doing them with my wife and kids. It's so much fun spending time with them doing what we love!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a strong Latter-day Saint home. My parents taught me that I have a loving Heavenly Father and that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. I loved my youth. I learned that it was easy to have fun and live the gospel at the same time. At the age of 19, I served a mission in and around the Pittsburgh area. While on my mission I proselyted and taught people about Jesus Christ and his church. This was a difficult, but rewarding time of my life. I certainly learned to rely on the Lord and to reach out to him in my times of need. Shortly after my mission I chose to be married and within three years of our marriage my wife and I had our first daughter. I was used to the freedom of not having children and doing what I wanted when I had free time. After having our first daughter I learned to be more selfless and through this, I believe I grew closer to God. Throughout my life I have been witness to many miracles. Many of these have come in times of trial. I have learned that it is in life's darkest moments, the moments when we feel like turning away from God that we must turn to him. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a blessing in my life. I love the Lord. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father that wants us to be happy in this life. I know that Jesus Christ died for my sins and shortcomings and that I can repent of those sins and feel forgiven in this life. I'm grateful for all that I have. I'm truly blessed!

How I live my faith

Rule #1 - Avoid making mistakes. Rule #2 - When I make a mistake I try to fix it immediately.
