Hi I'm Shelly

I live in a small town in Washington where I raised 4 daughters and love having my 8 grandchildren come and visit. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married 33 years, and look forward to many more years. Together we have raised 4 beautiful daughters. I am blessed with 8 grandchildren. I enjoy a simple life style. I love to read and learn about places, events and people around the world. I enjoy spending time with my friends and think I have a knack for finding great people as friends. The thing I enjoy the most is spending time with my husband, children and sharing in my grandchildren’s lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the sweet feeling of peace that comes to me when I am trying to live the precepts of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the feeling of direction and inspiration that I get when I read the scriptures, and say my prayers. Like everyone I have struggled with a trial or two. The gospel has brought me understanding and direction when I have questioned the direction and meaning of my life. I love the opportunities that the church gives for growth and service in its organizations. I’ve been a teacher, a song leader, a piano player, a camper, and an organizer. Right now I’m working with the 12 to 18 year old young women in my congregation. We set goals, play together, serve others and learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the opportunity to rub shoulders with some incredible young people! I believe the gospel is a message of hope and I take joy in that hope of life eternal with our loving Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I used to think that I needed to do something of great magnitude to make a difference in life, to make my mark and consider my life a success. Know I believe the biggest mark I need to leave is in the way I treat others and the way I respond to the prompting of the Holy Ghost. I want to know the teachings of the Savior so I read, pray, and attend my meetings. I try to reach out to those who have a need and to lift the hearts of those who need lifting. I believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is a message of hope and try to demonstrate in my actions the joy that this message brings.
