Hi I'm Blaine Holsonbake

I am a member of the Mormon faith. I am a retired probation officer who resides in Bakersfield, California.

About Me

I am a retired father of six children and four grandchildren. I enjoy hunting, fishing and camping. I spent 25 years as a Juvenile Corrections Officer and Probation Officer and am looking for a part time job to supplement my income and keep me busy. I am currently training to run a half marathon in a year's time, and a full marathon in about 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church when I was 20 years old. I was introduced to the Gospel by friends and soon developed a strong testimony of it's teachings and of the Book of Mormon. After much study and prayer the Spirit of the Lord (Holy Ghost) touched my heart and I was soon baptized. A year later i served a mission in the England Coventry Mission. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's true and only Church on the face of the earth. Jesus Christ lives and is the Savior of all mankind, both the living and the dead.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of my church and have served in many capacities. I have worked with small children and teenagers; helping them develope strong testimonies in our Savior Jesus Christ. I have made my life available to assist all my brothers and sisters, member and non member alike. I love the Lord and enjoy helping others gain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

We are, as the scriptures say, created in the image of God. Our bodies our sacred and are the tabernacles of our eternal spirits. Because he loves us, the Lord has given his us instructions on how to care for our bodies and what certain things we should avoid to maintain good health. If we follow the commandment of "The Word of Wisdom" (Doctrine and Covenants 89: 1-21) the Lord will bless us both physically and spiritually. Show more Show less
