Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because even though that I was raised in the LDS Church i've develope a testimony on my own of this church, the Church of Jesus Christ!.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving a 2 year mission. For the people that maybe don't know what a "mission" is, means that when a turned 19 I had the desire to share the things that I know are true, and now the Lord thru a living Prophet called me to serve in a 2 year mission sharing the Gospel with the people in Tampa, Florida. And i Love it!!!, specialy because I was called to serve in my native language, Spanish, hehehe.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We do it because we know that God is our Loving and Merciful Heavenly Father, but that he's also Just, so we know that we need to be baptize by the proper authority for us to be able to live with him once again, and we know that it wouldn't be Just for those who didn't get the chance to do it in this life for one reason or another, so for something as simple as that reason, we know that in the Temples thru the Preisthood (or authority of God given to men) we can perform those same ordinances for our deceased family members too.
