Hi I'm Darlene Henderson

I am a mother of 5 and grandma of 9 and great grandma of 8 and was born in Colorado and lived here my whole life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and have lived in Colorado my whole life. I retired two years ago and have found and love quilting. It is also fun to be able to travel around and visit our children. I thought I would have a hard time after I retired but it is amazing how my days are full of love and lots of people. Recently I was put on oxygen and that has slowed me down some but what a blessing that I can continue to do the things I love. In the summer you will find me in the garden I love sitting in the sun pulling weeds and admiring my flowers and talking with the people in my neighborhood. I tend to be shy but my husband is very outgoing and he helps me reach out to my neighbors. I love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense. I know my Father In Heaven loves me and knows who I am just like I know my children. I love the plan of salvation that I am able to participate and make choices and prove myself to my Heavenly Father. I am proud that I have an older brother Jesus who loves me enough to come to earth to show us what we need to do and has died so I can be forgiven for my sins. I love that my family will be together forever and I will see my friends too. Life has a purpose I know that the more I try to live the gospel the more I need to do. There is a peace I have not found anywhere else but in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have served in Primary some would call this childrens church and I love it so. If you want truth listen to the children there are close to the Lord. Part of my callings my husband and I are in charge of helping keep our church building clean we schedule different people in our ward to take turns cleaning. To be able to clean the Lords house is not always what most people think of as serving the Lord but it gives everyone the opportunity to serve the Lord. I also try to encourage our members to prepare their families for potential problems by having a year supply of food saved and to try to live debt free.
