Hi I'm Carol

I live in Texas. I have a lot of varied interests but most importantly I am the mom of 4 great kids and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite thing in life is spending time with my family. I have a daughter and three sons who brighten every day. I have a great husband who is hard-working and takes good care of all of us. I am a registered nurse, although I have been out of practice for many years as I have been a stay-at-home mom. Some of my hobbies and interests are horses, travel, reading and cooking.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents converted to the LDS faith when I was about 6 years old. Prior to that we were active Lutherans. So, while I was essentially raised a Mormon, I can still remember attending our Lutheran church and being afraid of the minister because he was very loud in his sermons. I was fortunate to have such courageous parents: they had a lot of opposition to their decision to join the church. Seeing their example and their commitment over the years has been a great strength to me. I'm a Mormon now, as an adult, because the Gospel of Jesus Christ is my way of life. Having lost a brother and my mother, I find great peace in the teachings of where we came from, why we're here and where we are going. I know that I will see them again. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helps me be a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and citizen as I try to follow the example of the Savior. Two great things in the Gospel that anchor my soul are reading the Book of Mormon daily and attending the temple frequently. Whatever happens in life, good or bad, easy or challenging, I receive so much strength by doing those things. I have a sure knowledge that when we put forth the effort, we are blessed. Through life's experiences, I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father that knows each person as an individual. He is aware of all that we go through and is willing and waiting to help us. This knowledge sustains me every single day.

How I live my faith

Aside from daily study and prayer, my faith is a regular part of my life as I work with young women ages 12-14 in the Young Women program. I love watching them develop their faith and love for the Savior and each other through weekly classes and activities. Being active in church is a great blessing because it has allowed me to make wonderful friends in all of the many places we have lived: Utah, Virginia, Iowa and Texas. There is a great sense of community when you serve together and share the same values.
