Hi I'm Carmel

I grew up on the island of Maui. I'm a wife & mom of 4 girls, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mom of 4 girls. I enjoy playing the piano and reading fictional novels. I have graduated from college and briefly used my degree to teach English.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, because my parents are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have continued in the church, because I know that God lives. I know that Jesus Christ is His Son, my Savior, and my Elder Brother. I know that God knows me and that He hears my prayers. When I was in college, I gained my testimony of Jesus through my studies for my religion classes. I decided to pray for confirmation that I was in the true church, just as Joseph Smith did. I received a warm happy feeling, and knew that I had received my answer. My testimony has been strengthened since then, and I am grateful for my membership in the church.

How I live my faith

I enjoy participating in church activities. I know that God wants me to help others, and service activities are always the best. While I was in college, I had the most wonderful experiences of helping others. I helped with the Special Olympics, and the participants were so friendly and talented! I also visited with terminally ill patients, and loved seeing their joy to have visitors. I visit with other women in church to be sure that they are taken care of, and I love becoming friends with these women. I have had experience teaching and leading children and youth, and am always amazed by their love and dedication to God. I have had many opportunities to play the piano as a soloist or accompanist for others in the church, and enjoy sharing my talent with others. The church is a great place to feel closer to God, and to serve Him by serving others.
