Hi I'm Karen

I'm a recent college graduate, I love singing, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a prospective elementary school teacher. I love hiking, reading, singing, quilting, snowmobiling, fishing, and playing the piano. My family is the most important other unique things about me, I am double jointed in my fingers, I love kimchi, and I speak Polish.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this religion, but it wasn't until I was a teenager that I really understood and believed the doctrine. I'm a Mormon because all of my deepest life questions have been answered through the scriptures (this includes the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants), through living prophets, and personal spiritual experiences. I know with a powerful conviction that Book of Mormon is scripture and that it testifies that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior. I know that God has a specific plan for each one of us and we can know His plan through sincere prayer and studying the scriptures.

How I live my faith

My religion in a very real way helps me to be more like Jesus Christ. I have high standards that keep me from physical, emotional, and spiritual dangers. I find ways to have fun with my friends without the influence of drug or alcohol. I find strength by going to church activities, serving others, and going to church meetings and religion classes each week. We all have an opportunity to serve in the Church. Right now one of my assignments and privileges is to play the piano for church services on Sunday.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Jesus Christ was baptized to show Heavenly Father that He would be obedient to all of His commandments. We are baptized the same way Jesus was, we follow His example and promise God that we will be obedient to Him. Baptism is symbolic of death and resurrection because it is done by immersion, or being completely covered by water and then coming back up again. It is as if we are burying our sins and being born again, clean and pure. Show more Show less
