Hi I'm Nathan Jones

I love the church. I love my family. I love athletics. I love Music. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a very musical kid. I also love to play sports. I participated in the school musicals and the Swim and Dive team. I played lacrosse for 2 years on the high school team and enjoyed it. I like to try new things and compete in any activity. I constantly strive to do my best if i commit to an activity I do it all the way. I was the school mascot which was a maple leaf, very scary. I am attending BYU University Provo Utah and have not the slightest idea in what I want to major in! I am the youngest of 3 boys in my family and often am referred to as the baby of the family. Being the youngest child is a hard thing but only the youngest children understand it. Both of my brothers are being examples for me by serving missions for the church in Honduras and Guatemala. Writing them every week brings me great joy along with receiving things from them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have never known much of other religions. It is foolish to assume that being born into the church automatically means your converted. I believe that all members of this church at some point in their life have to read the Book of Mormon get on their knees and ask god to give them the confirmation that this church is indeed true. In doing so one finds their own personal conversion to the church even though you were born in the church. I am a Mormon because this church brings me joy, peace, and friendship. It answers the questions of Why am I here? What am i supposed to do? Where will i go? I have an eternal perspective of life here on earth because I am Mormon and that enables me to look past trials I face. The values taught in the Mormon religion I agree with and know that they bring eternal happiness. This church has taught me how to lead, be responsible, and be kind to others. I am a Mormon because this religion has given me everything. My life is based on this church and I worry what I would have become without the influence of this church and so I stay in it and follow its teachings for this reason and the confirmations from the spirit that this is true church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith but he way I act. I strive to keep my demeanor the same around everyone and not change based on who is around. One him that I sang in church choir was named "If the Savior stood beside me" and that stuck with me. I want to live in a way so that if the Savior did stand beside me I would not fear. I home teach every month and am actively involved in my church youth groups. Attending early morning church known as seminary before high school started is a prime example. It started at 6 in the morning every school day. Looking back on my years in high school there is no way I could have survived had the lord not blessed me with strength. In my treatment for others I try to remember that we are all sons and daughters of god and that socially a person may be less popular or not desirable but in the eyes of god we are all the same and as a proxy of Christ and what he stood for I need to do the same.
