Hi I'm Seth

I'm a runner and a big smiler. I dream big. I work hard. I'm a Mormon. Roll Tide!

About Me

Currently I am serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, in the Alabama Birmingham Mission. I'm waiting for my visa to be processed so that I may serve in Brazil. I am a son of David and Inez, and the youngest of 9 children, 7 boys and 2 girls, not including my step-brother and step-sister, whom I love dearly. I was born in Southern California and loved to be outside, especially when it rained. Lived there for 13 years, and then my family moved to Missouri, Springfield area. I love the humidity and the changing seasons. I love to learn. I love sports. I love people. I love to be kind. I love older generations and listening to their inspiring stories. I love to do things hands-on. I like to compete. I love to see progress. I love to lead. I love to help. I love to be happy, whatever I may be doing. One thing that has always inspired me is running. I ran cross country in high school. My personal best time was 16:32 for the 5k. I qualified for State once. It was a thrill. And super cold! I love the rain. Especially the thunderstorms of Missouri. The flashes of lightening. It can be intense, but wondrous. I have always tried to do my best. I have made mistakes like everyone else. And like everyone else, I have sinned. So I'm really grateful for my mother. And that she taught me to pray. And that she taught me to love. And that she taught me every good thing she has taught me. She has helped me to have my own faith in the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

Why....I LOVE IT! It's the best thing that ever happened to me. More thrilling than a roller coaster. Cooler than the midnight breeze. More secure than worldly riches. I feel complete. Like I belong. Not just a tad bit. I feel it 100%. There is no almost, or just being close to the best thing. It is. It is the best, because I am free. I am blessed. I make promises to God and He keeps His Promises. The Gospel works. It's that simple. It just works perfectly. Now, I'm not perfect. But I've made more progress on this path than I ever imagined. More than any other avenue, this works best. And the underlying feeling is the sweet assurance of the Peace that only Jesus Christ could give.

How I live my faith

I just love it. I just live it. I try to be like Jesus. I go to church, study the scriptures, pray, etc. And I chose to serve a mission. Even better, I chose to BECOME the missionary the Lord expects me to be. I live it one week at a time. There isn't any other way to follow Jesus than just one consistent, patient step after the other. I live it by smiling, being happy, and staying true to the scriptures.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Seth
First, Believe in Christ. And then, act on His words. Specifically, read the scriptures of both ancient and modern prophets i.e. the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants of the Church, the Pearl of Great Price (Books of Moses and Abraham), and the teachings of Joseph Smith until this present time. They all testify of Jesus Christ. We feel of the truth of the Holy Ghost when we are (1) Searching and (2) Listening with our hearts and our minds. Pray like the course of your life depends on it, because it does. Show more Show less
