Hi I'm Mike

I'm a father of one, college football player, and on my way to medical school soon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my beatiful wife for almost four years. We have one funny little boy who makes me laugh everyday. I recently finished my final year of playing college football. I have played football all my life and love any sport from football to golf to volleyball. I will recieve my undergraduate degree in Health Administration in December and plan on applying to medical school this fall. With the little free time I have I enjoy watching shows and and playing games with my wife and son or playing xbox with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a mormon home and have been active in the church my whole life. Growing up I did what my parents told me to do because I knew they wanted the best for me. When I was a young teenager I was able to receive my own personal testimony of His restored gospel instead of relying on the testimoy of my parents. For a period of a couple weeks I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. One night as I was reading I read a passage that said "If ye keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land." As I read that passage my eyes started to tear up and I felt the most wonderful warm feeling in my chest. I knew that what I was feeling could only come from God and that the words I was reading were true. That experience solidified my testimony and faith in God. As I have grown up I have had many other events and experiences that have fortified this experience and my testimony. I am thankful for this testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The knowledge of my Savior and God's plan for us to return to him influence every decision I make in life. I try to do those things and make those decisions that make my Father in Heaven proud of me. The best part of this is that when I do what He asks of me I am blessed tenfold. I am far from perfect and struggle with many things, but I try to follow the example of the Savior and be like him. I know when he is pleased with me because I can feel the peace and happiness enter into my life.

How I live my faith

In the church I have the opportunity to teach a class to the new members in my area as well as those who are visiting and interested in becoming members of the church. I love being able to explain the basic principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ and bear my testimony of them. The excitement and faith of the new members lifts my spirits and increase my faith each week. I am always available as muscle for those who need help moving in and out of their homes. I try to support my wife in her church responsibilities, mostly by watching our busy little boy.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Mike
The missionaries will talk about how God loves all of his children and His plan for us to return to him. They will teach about the importance of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and what all people should do to be cleansed from their sins and return to our Father in Heaven. They will talk about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his Priesthood and how he calls prophets today to lead and guide us. Show more Show less
