Hi I'm Michelle

I love to travel, cook, and read. My 2 kids and husband keep me on my toes but I love them so much! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm a wife and mother to two adorable children. My husband is deaf and I don't know a lot of sign language so communication can be a little difficult at times. But however difficult my life may seem I wouldn't trade it for anyone else's. I served a mission in Brazil, attended BYU-I and BYU, got my degree in Anthropology with a minor in Political Science, and have been a Mormon my whole life. My passion is traveling and I would definitely do a lot more of it if I had all the time and money in the world. I also love to cook and try new foods and recipes. I can't stand having the same things over and over again. My husband loves everything I cook though so I must be doing something right. I also love to read. My favorite genre is definitely Regency, but I also love dystopian books, espionage books, and Harry Potter books. :) I also enjoy learning. I would love to be a college student forever (if I didn't have to pay for classes, buy text books, or take tests). Well that's me in a nutshell. Hope you enjoy! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and I'm so grateful to have lived with the gospel in my life for as long as I've been here. The reason I have chosen to stay a member of this church my whole life is because of the sweet truths it teaches us. I don't have to wonder where I came from, why I'm here on the earth, or what will happen to me and my family when we leave. I know that we lived with our Heavenly Father as spiritual beings before we came to earth. I know that we were created in our Heavenly Father's image and that He is truly our Father. He has a body just like mine. I know that I came to earth to receive a body of my own and to learn how to become like my Father in Heaven. I know that there is a plan for everyone. I know that Jesus Christ is my brother and Savior. He was sent to earth to do what we couldn't do for ourselves. Without him we wouldn't be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father. I know that this is His ultimate goal for each of His children. I know that through the Priesthood for God we can be sealed to our families in this life and in the life to come. I know that our Heavenly Father restored His full gospel and Priesthood to the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon which is another testament of Jesus Christ as our Savior. I know that the Lord is at the head of this church and that He calls His prophets to be His mouthpiece on earth. I know that He will return again. Because of all these things I know to be true, I am still and will continue to be a member of His church for the rest of my life.

How I live my faith

I attend church every week with my family. As of right now I have stake calling in the Young Women's Organization. The church is broken down into wards/branches which are local congregations. Then a group of those wards and branches is a stake. As part of my calling I train and help the ward and branch Young Women's leaders to better serve the Young Women in their area. I am also a visiting teacher in my ward which means I am responsible for visiting or contacting a few women in my ward every month to see how they are doing and sharing a message to help strengthen their faith. I also teach my children about their Savior and Heavenly Father. We try to have Family Home Evening each week. During Family Home Evening we sing songs, pray, have a short spiritual thought or lesson, an activity, and a snack (sometimes). We also pray and read our scriptures as a family each night before bed. I also read and pray by myself either in the morning or throughout the day when the kids are both asleep. I try to be a good example to others by keeping the promises I have made my Savior. I don't drink alcohol, coffee or tea. I don't smoke or do drugs. I pay tithing each month. I am not close to being perfect, but I am striving to be better each day.
