Hi I'm Mitch Mender

I grew up in New Hampshire. In high school i was a four sport athlete. I'm going to school to be a lawyer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town and was actively involved in sports. In high school i was part of the chorus and loved to have fun with every "group". I was an active scouter and received my eagle scout. Right now i am studying philosophy and Portuguese at Brigham Young University. I love snowboarding, hiking, camping, going to the movies and spending quality time with friends. I still love singing but only do it in the car and shower. i can still be found playing sports but I'm usually the slowest one there.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up i always felt that this church was truly the church of Jesus Christ. As i got older i was able to see how following the counsel of the Lord's prophets greatly blessed my life. When i pray to ask Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon is true or if Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration i receive a strong feeling in my heart that it is all true and my desire to continue to live it increases. When i was 19 i had a chance to go to Brasil for two years and teach Brazilians about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I will never forget how the truthfulness of this gospel changed their lives and changed me forever. I am so grateful for the many blessings that the Lord has given me and hope to be able to teach my future family all about the blessings that come from living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively being involved. As Christ taught, faith without works is dead. Once a week i attend church on Sunday for three hours. I have been asked to help all the men in my area by planning activities for us to serve the community and to try and strengthen us spiritually and emotionally. We spend a lot of time as a group trying to work on unity and personal progression. Also i have been given responsibility to visit at least once a month two families to see how they are doing, share a message, and preform any service that could be needed. I feel that I best live my faith by proactively trying to live my life as Christ exemplified and always looking for chances to serve and to lift up my neighbors. I know that i am not perfect and when i mess up i try and correct it as fast as possible and continue on with my life. Daily i study the scriptures and pray. This allows me to feel Heavenly Fathers love and to stay focused on my purpose here on earth.
