Hi I'm Allan

I grew up in Oakland San Francisco East Bay. I follow Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid gardener and just finished my second career. I was a landscape contractor the first time and a parks manager the second time. Now I am going to be a teacher. I have been and continue to be married to my best friend for 25 years. We are blessed to be uncle and aunt to a number of fantastic nieces and nephews. I love to swim and go for walks. We love to volunteer and help others. We also enjoy teaching children to become strong and independent community members.

Why I am a Mormon

I decided to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I listened to the teachings of Jesus Christ as presented by two young men who were serving a 2-year mission, prayed to our Heavenly Father, asking Him whether or not these teachings were true, and received a confirmation in my heart, mind, and spirit that indeed, the teachings are true. I also believe and now know that the Book of Mormon is true and is a companion testament to the Old and New Testaments, The Bible. I know that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit live and are actual beings. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation as given in the Book of Mormon will bring anyone who follows the plan true happiness now and in the life to come. I know that families can be together forever through the Plan of Salvation. I invite all to listen and decide of yourself.

How I live my faith

I in fully involved in my faith in Jesus Christ. I help to visit the mature members of our local congregation when they are ill in hospital and at their homes to help them physically or spiritually. I also lead the older group to follow our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and help others in need. I am involved in family history and genealogy and look forward to eventually being reunited with my family and ancestors who have passed from this life and are waiting for our reunion. I invite you to visit familysearch.org and discover your family. I have been involved teaching the youth in Sunday School, helping to minister and administer our congregation, and helping to guide young men and women who arrive at our congregation to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Try it, you may like it...it is the truth!

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We worship Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was chosen by God to restore the the ancient truths of the divine gospel; together with the priesthood through which the authority of God is exercised in the affairs of His Church and for the blessing of His people. Joseph Smith was and is a prophet, seer, and revelator. Prophets have continued from the time of Joseph. The current prophet and president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is now Thomas S. Monson. Show more Show less
