Hi I'm Johnny Bench

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Glendale Arizona, I am now serving a two year mission, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am Johnny Bench, I was going to Brigham Young University for about a year and now I have taken a two year break to serve a full time mission in the south, known as the Jackson Mississippi Mission. I am open major in school right now but I really like the biological sciences so I want to pursue a degree in genetics. From there I kind of do not really know where I want to go yet but there is so much that I can do with that that I will like so thazt is where I am going for now. I like to play basketball a lot, it is my number one passion, I have done karate all my life since my dad is an instructor and you know from there, I like to do outdoor activities such as hiking, skateboarding etc. I like to be around good friends and play simple card games and board games.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up being a Mormon my Mom and Dad have raised me in this religion. I am a Mormon because I have a testiomony of the Book of Mormon. As Mormons we study the King James Version of the bible and I got to know it pretty well at one time, and for a while I was setting the Book of Mormon aside and not reading it. But I realized that we are commanded by God to read tht book and to know for myself I had to read it. And reading it I can say that I know that this is the truth. I know that God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ did appear to Joseph smith and through the power of God the Book of Mormon was translated from the gold plates that were left from the civilization long ago (or in other words the writing that was not in english was depicted and coded to be read in english) And that we do have a prophet now on this earth who is also the president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here on this earth.

How I live my faith

I love this gospel, a lot is centered on families and teaching families to be united. Growing up my family has had family scriptures were each day usually in the morning we read out of the Book of Mormon and we would end with prayer plus have a prayer that night together as a family. We also have something that the prophet has told us to have called family night. This is where one night of the week (often mondays) we get together as a family and having a spiritual or inspiring talk from one of our family members then have some kind of fun activity we can do as a family such as a card game like uno. The habits that I have learned from my family is what has got me to gain my own testimony of this church and I am now serving a two year mission where I spread the gospel to everyone including those of other religions, because my purpose is to invite everyone to come unto christ even me. That is what I love about the gospel always room for improvement.
