Hi I'm Mack Damavandi

I was born and raised in Cedar City, Utah. I am an Iranian-American, a student, a son and brother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church. Before my mission I attended Utah State University. I really enjoyed it there. I love to play Ultimate Frisbee and soccer. I was raised on good food and now am a self-proclaimed foody. I also like to try my hand at cooking (but I could never be as good as my parents). I love listening to good tunes and watching good films. RMW Bonfires were some of the best memories in high school. One of my hobbies that has never really gotten flushed out is travelling. I also love technology, politics, and world peace.

Why I am a Mormon

While serving as a missionary for the Church I was asked this very question. My father is Muslim and the man I was talking with was also Muslim, he asked me what made me choose to become Christian. This particular man was also familiar with our Church. I explained to him about Moroni's Promise (Moroni 10:3-5) and that I did just as directed by Moroni. I prayed with real intent, having faith in Christ and the Lord did of course manifest the truth unto me. I have done the same thing over and over again since that original experience, and each time my testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is strengthened. I know that this is the true Church and God's kingdom on the earth today, to prepare the world for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church in the Jakarta Indonesia Mission. Before my mission I served in a ward of the Church as a counselor in the Sunday School and as a secretary in the men's organization of that particular ward. I am an Eagle Scout. I have also participated in hometeaching, where the men from our ward go to the other members homes and share spiritual messages with them, to strengthen and uplift them in their day to day lives.
