Hi I'm Kalyn

I have lived in Los Angeles, London, and Berlin. I'm a Daughter, a Sister, an Aunt. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas and Southern California with my parents, older sister, and four younger brothers. After graduating High School, I went to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where I study German and English Languages. I hope to become a High School German teacher when I graduate. I paint, bake, play sports, and read in my free time. I love to travel and have participated in a Student Exchange, while in High School, to Gelsenkirchen, Germany, a Study Abroad, while in college, to London, England, and also many family vacations all over North America. I served as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Berlin, Germany from May 2012-November 2013. I know that God loves me and all His children, and I love Him! During this time, I had limited contact with my friends and family as I served the people of Germany. The purpose was to bring others closer to Christ. This was accomplished through a plethora of ways: teaching about Christ in people's homes, community service projects, offering free English classes, and many other ways. I grew closer to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father while serving my mission and am thankful for the opportunity I had to serve the wonderful people in Germany. I love my family and am thankful that our faith has knit us closer together. Growing families are a blessing from God, I do my best to help my family grow to God together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. The doctrines unique to this Church, such as Forever Families and Temple Work, are a huge comfort to me. I know that I will see my family members that have passed away again and that they are not truly gone. The Church encourages its members to be their best selves and that through Christ and His Atonement we can all be made perfect no matter how imperfect we may be. I know that God, my Father in Heaven, and His Son, Jesus Christ, love me and know me individually. I cannot deny these truths and I strive to live worthy of the immense love of God. I am grateful to Him and to Christ. I want to live my life so that when I leave this life I may be worthy to live with them again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of what I believe. I dress and speak modestly, I am honest in my dealings with my fellow man, I work hard and do my best, I forgive others of their misdeeds and repent and ask forgiveness when I do a misdeed, and I look for ways to serve others. I develop and share my talents with others by baking treats, singing at Nursing Homes, and helping with homework. I left my family to serve an 18 month mission in Germany to spread the Word of God. Everything I do, I do with to show God that I love Him.

What is the Law of Chastity?

The Law of Chastity is God's law of procreation. Since the beginning we learn that only husband and wife should exercise this manifistation of love. In keeping this commandment, I have gained respect for myself and respect for others. I know that I am a Daughter of a Heavenly Father and can walk with my head up and be happy. I keep myself clean for my future family. Only heartache and saddness come when this law is not kept. Show more Show less
