Hi I'm Lara

I live in Idaho with my tall husband. I'm a mother of four great kids. I am a sociologist with a passion for interior design.

About Me

I am pretty much your average LDS mom. I drive a mini van. I have four busy kids. I go to church every Sunday. I have a degree in Sociology. I was a founder of a local charter school. My passion in life is interior design. I love to decorate my home and do DIY projects. I enjoy creating beauty. I love to paint and draw. I love long walks and late night talks with my husband of twelve years. Rainy days are my favorites. Our family enjoys boating and wake boarding every summer. I enjoy playing tennis and doing yoga. I am still trying to figure out how to be the best mom I can be. Having and raising children is the most challenging endeavor I have ever faced and I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. He knows me individually and He desires to bless me. He knows the best gifts for me. He can't always give me what I want when I ask for it. Every time I have a gift to give one of my children- I get so excited- I can't wait to give it to them because I know they will love it. However, I have to wait until the time is right before I can bestow it. This is how I like to picture my Heavenly Father. I know He can't wait to bless me, but sometimes, I must trust in His perfect timing. I know that my Savior is Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for His atonement for not only my sins, but my pains and heartaches. I know that He truly understands every feeling I will ever experience and I can turn to Him for strength. Because of His suffering, I can live eternally with my loved ones if I strive to follow what I know is right. I feel blessed to have been born to earthly parents who love me and who have taught me right and wrong. I am grateful for their examples in leading me to the waters of baptism. I am so grateful to have the gift of the Holy Ghost to be with me daily. The Holy Ghost comforts and guides me along my path. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. He was a humble boy who became Heavenly Father's means of bringing the truth to the Earth. That truth enriches my life every day.

How I live my faith

I love to work with the children. Children have such a forgiving and loving nature. They see things very black and white. They are genuine and unassuming. I enjoy volunteering in my kid's school and I recently served on the founding board to create a local charter school in our town. I try to be friendly and kind to those whom I come in contact with. I think a simple smile and a "hello" can go a long way. I find it is easy to get caught up in comparing myself with others. It helps me to look at life as a pathway where I walk side by side with others, not as a ladder I am trying to climb up faster than everyone else to reach the top. We all have our good days and our bad days. No one is 100% perfect in every way. I try to be as genuine as I can with everyone I meet.
