Hi I'm Samuel.

I lived in Nebraska till age 14, then moved to Chennai, India with my family. If it's intense, I'm down... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the middle child of nine in my family. I have had the chance to travel and live around much of Asia, and decided to attend BYU Hawaii to continue the international culture I love so much while studying business. While living in India during my teenage years I learned to speak Tamil, but have since forgotten much of it. If you don't use it, you lose it. I enjoy physically demanding activities. If you make me laugh, I naturally just begin to hit you in the arm consecutively... it's just my way of saying "I love you." A favorite memory of mine is climbing the Himalayan mountains and reaching "The Valley of Flowers"... It's the most heavenly place I've ever been. Google it...

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the Book of Mormon is true. I read from the Book of Mormon daily because I know it's true. I have chosen to follow Christ's gospel, as revealed in the Book of Mormon and Bible, because I believe it's the way in which you will get most out of life, and I don't settle. I do have a testimony that families are designed to exist forever. I have a hope through Christ that my family now, and my future family, will reach their designed potential. To me, the gospel means life is meant to be wonderful. It also means that at times, life is meant to be rough... and painful. And at these times, I remember: No pain, no gain.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by bettering my best. I live my faith by expecting daily growth in all capacities of life. Up to the very day that I die, I plan on growing... which means change. Currently, I'm a full time missionary for the church. For 2 years I have left my family, friends and all that's familiar to help others strengthen their faith in Christ.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Samuel.
As Mormons, we know God has a body... a perfect body that is, without flaw and immortal. As taught in the scriptures, he also has a spirit that dwells within his perfected body. Gods nature is that of a Fathers: One of genuine concern and love for his children. Show more Show less

What is the priesthood?

Samuel.
The Priesthood is God's power and authority. It's the power that He uses to govern the universe, care for his children and keep order. All things about the priesthood are not yet revealed to us at this time, but God has given to us, his children, a portion of this power and authority, so that we too might care for one another and keep order. It is the power and authority to do things with God's endorsement. I know, through personal experience, that the priesthood is a real authority and power given to man from the supreme being of the universe. Show more Show less
