Hi I'm Kyle

I Skateboard, Snowboard, ride Quads and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Riding Quads at the sand dunes has always been something that I have really enjoyed. Since Arizona and southern California are so hot most of the year, I am only able to go for a few months of the year. So for the other times, I learned how to skateboard. My friends and I would always try to find new creative spots and try new tricks. I am all about finding something new, or trying new things that will really get my adrenaline going! Whether it’s doing a trick over some stairs, or flying through the air with a 400 pound piece of machinery under me. I feel that it’s an excitement like nothing else! I also have 9 younger siblings, and it is always fun to be able to teach them new things, and go out to skateboard with them while they are on their scooters! Family is definitely one of the most important things in my life. Every time I go to the sane dunes, it is always been family!

Why I am a Mormon

My family have been Mormon for many generations, so this was something that I was born into. However that doesn’t mean that I had an easy ride my whole life. Like everyone else, my life has certainly had its ups and downs, and it came to the point where I either would have to find out if this really was the true Church of Christ or if it was not. I began to read the Book of Mormon, and like all those who investigate the church, I prayed to know if it was true. Sure enough God gave me a powerful answer by the power of the Holy Ghost, which confirmed to me that this was the correct path for me, as well as everyone else that is on earth. Since coming to a knowledge of this truth, I have been able to see countless blessings come into my life that I never even thought was possible! Being a Mormon is a lot more than just "going to church for a long time" or "not being able to do anything" it’s being able to have eternal happiness, having self control, and having knowledge of exactly why I am here on earth, and helping me to know exactly where I am going after this life. Ultimately enjoying more freedoms and not being burdened down by sin!

How I live my faith

While being at the sand dunes was always a wholesome place to be with my family, the skateboard community can be a bit more unique crowd. It was very common to be the only member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the groups of friends that I was hanging out with. But I was still able to live my faith by going to church on Sundays. This was something that was always noticed by those around me. Even though at times they thought it was very peculiar, they all were very respectful of my beliefs. I am now serving a 2 year mission in the Canada Halifax mission, and I am able to serve and help others to find the same happiness that I have been able to experience in my own life! While I thought at times I stuck out like a sore thumb being a member of this church at the skate park, its even more- so now that I wear a suit all day with a name tag on it. But I really love being unique and peculiar. It really helps people to see the difference in me. And have a desire to learn what makes my life so happy!

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

This is something that could seem really strange to some people. but as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints we believe that This is Jesus Christs true church, and as such we also believe in trying to be like Christ. Because the church is completely about service, when we serve and are not paid, we are able to experience that Christ like love for each other, and build closer relationships as a community. and become more like Christ each and every day.
