Hi I'm Mya!

Becoming a Mormon is the best thing that ever happened to me!

About Me

I am married with four children, who are my world! I love to spend time with my friends and help others. I enjoy photography, especially portraiture. I like to cook and could spend all afternoon in the kitchen. Happiness for me comes through serving my family, church, and those in need.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't raised with a strong religious background. However, my saintly grandmother was a great example and strength to me. My conversion to the LDS church began when I was teaching Sunday school at a baptist church that we attended as a family. I was torn inside on Sundays when we taught lessons and people would make comments as to whether or not God speaks to us as he did in biblical times. Inside I knew that God had not forsaken us, that he still heard and answered our prayers, but how? Not long after I began to have these questions, that my husband and I allowed the missionaries to teach us about the restoration. I knew when they taught us about the gospel of Jesus Christ and that there was a prophet on the earth today, that this was true. After a lot of prayer and studying however, I was still torn. During a time of much trial and confusion over the course that I should take, my husband and I knelt and prayed together on this subject. As he offered the sincere prayer of our hearts, my depressed and confused heart was lifted and I felt very strongly that the things I was taught were true. I feel very blessed to have been set free from the struggles that come from not knowing where I came from, why I am here and where I am going. I know that I am a child of God and that He loves and knows us all and He will answer our prayers!

How I live my faith

As a mother of four children, I live my faith daily through trying to do the basic things asked of us by our Father in Heaven. I love to serve others and my soul especially reaches out to the "little ones". I strive to make life fun for our children and others and try to instill in their hearts the great gift of faith. I am always looking for ways to teach and help the children and the youth, those that are in need or struggling in their paths of life as well as the strong and assured.
