Hi I'm Jasmyn Steel

I'm a wife, soon to be mom, and life enthusiast.

About Me

I was blessed to be born into an LDS family. I grew up with three brothers and two sisters, and they are the some of the most important people in my life. When I was in primary my favorite song was always "I Love to See the Temple," because I knew that my mom and dad were married in the temple and because of that my family was a FOREVER family. Although my parents have since divorced, and my mom is remarried, I know my family is still a forever family, we have just been blessed to add a few more family members into our lives. My parent's divorce was very hard on me, but it taught me a lot about what kind of marriage I did and did not want to have. When I met my husband we were able to talk about the kind of family we wanted to have and we now have a vision of what we're working towards. My husband and I are both returned missionaries. He served in the England Birmingham mission from March of 2013 to March of 2015, and I served in the Cincinnati Ohio mission from September of 2013 to March of 2015. We both LOVED our missions and reflect on the experiences we had often. I believe our missions helped to prepare us for marriage and we are so thankful for that. I am now a student studying business, a part-time secretary, a wife, a primary teacher, and a soon to be mommy. I know that Heavenly Father is aware of each of us and wants to help us find joy and happiness in life. I strive to find the good in each day and to share it with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon not because I was born into an LDS family, but because I know that the LDS church is the only true church on the Earth today. I have been blessed to have experiences that have allowed me to know of this truth. One of the greatest blessings in my life was to witness as people I loved took the missionary discussions, realized and accepted the teachings of the gospel, and were baptized. I know that people are placed into our lives for reasons we aren't always aware of. This is because our Father in Heaven knows us better than we know ourselves and he loves us just becuase we're us. I love being a mormon because I know my Heavenly Father listens to me, understands my fears and dreams, and will always be there when I need him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by not just reading the scriptures, but by studying them with a specific question I have for my Heavenly Father. Each and every time He is able to provide me with answers and help me make changes in my life to be a better instrument in his hands. I strive to be Christ-like in my relationship with my husband and those around me. By trying to look for ways to serve others I'm able to feel the spirit more in my life. Jesus Christ taught that we must love our neighbors. By being a visiting teacher and primary teacher I have the opportunity to develop greater love for the women and children I get to share the gospel with. As a returned missionary, I love taking every chance to teach with the missionaries serving in my ward. Throughout my life I've truly learned that the greatest happiness comes when you are in the service of others.
