Hi I'm Drew

I'm a fundraiser. I help non-profits organize. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I believe in community. I believe that the strength of a community comes from the strength of its members. I am a graduate student learning how to turn my passion for non-profit organizations into a career. I have helped organize two non-profit organizations as well as helped fundraise for a number of small organizations. I love to travel with my beautiful wife.

Why I am a Mormon

There was a time in my life where I felt so out of touch with myself that I didn't even know where to begin. I had always been a member of the church but I never developed my own testimony. I came to a pivotal moment in my life where I had to decide where to attend college. I knew that where I chose to establish my adult identity would have lasting effects throughout my life. I weighed my options between well-ranked universities and a church sponsored university. For the first time in my life I realized that I had to make a real decision and I wasn't sure where to start. My parents taught me about prayer, but I didn't have a testimony in its power. I set aside some time to reflect and think about my decisions and then I prayed. I didn't know what I was expecting, I don't think I had ever said a meaningful prayer in my life. I prayed for clarity. I didn't have an amazing vision or experience, but for the first time in a long time the fog in my mind began to clear and I knew that I had the support of my Heavenly Father. I chose to study at a church sponsored university, where my testimony grew and as an individual I thrived. I met my wonderful wife, my eternal love and best friend. I'm a Mormon because it is through the gospel of Jesus Christ that the priesthood exists. That priesthood binds my wife and I together in an unbreakable bond that stretches through eternity. I believe in the power of the priesthood to receive revelation through a living prophet. I know that this priesthood was restored through Joseph Smith and there has been a prophet on the earth since then. I know that God loves me. I know that Jesus Christ suffered the Atonement so that he would know me personally and know how to help me. I know I am never alone in this life and that there is hope even in the darkest and most confusing hours of life.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as a secretary in the men's organization of our congregation. In this calling I visit members of the congregation, provide service through various projects, and keep records of our meetings. I serve on the board of directors for two nonprofit organization in my community. The hats I wear there are diverse and challenging, but I love the opportunity to serve.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No. The beautiful part of God's plan of happiness for his children is that he has given us all agency. We all have the agency to choose for whom we vote, and the church has chosen not make any official partisan endorsement. Show more Show less
