Hi I'm Ian

I play sports, act, and seek improvement always. I love truth, and I'm a huge believer in second chances! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love staying active, but my passion for fast food will sometimes compromise my desire for fast race times. C'est la vie. I play volleyball, I run, and I'm preparing to serve as a full time missionary in the Canada Vancouver Mission starting this fall. I sing, act, and try my darndest to dance, usually resulting in serious frustration from whichever poor choreographer got assigned to help me. I love this gospel, and I will never be able to express my gratitude for the friendships, opportunities and direction it has blessed me with. The Great Plan of Happiness truly is the only path to complete joy and fulfillment in this life, as well as in the eternities to come.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. Many friends who were also born into the gospel, however, have fallen away. It hurts me to see this, but it also serves as a constant reminder of how thankful I am to have been blessed with the gift of faith. I have prayed over, pondered, and studied my religion for my entire life. One evening, when I was about fifteen, I decided that I needed to have a good solid knowledge of the truthfulness of this work. Especially if I was going to give my whole life to it. I knelt down and prayed to God that he would send his Spirit to be with me so that I would be able to feel if this Church was true. I expressed to Him that I had concluded that it was indeed the fully restored gospel of Jesus Christ on the Earth today. As the words left my mouth, I felt an incredible sense of peace, and the desire to devote myself to Christ's work has never left me since.

How I live my faith

As previously stated, I'm preparing to serve a mission. I will be spending the next two years of my life in British Columbia, teaching the good word and work of Jesus Christ to the people I will meet there. I'll leave my family, friends, school and career opportunities, money, my car, and a wonderful city behind, so that I can bring others to the same knowledge of the love of Christ that I have come to find. I don't have a current assignment in my local congregation, but I think I feel one coming in hot before I leave for Vancouver.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

While we greatly honor and respect the faith and works of the prophet Joseph Smith, we do not worship him. The only beings we worship are our Eternal Father who is in Heaven and his son, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
