Hi I'm Katie

I love ping-pong. I love art. I love being Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I am a 19 year old college student living in Houston, Texas. I’m a pretty average young adult, in that I like to surf the web, watch movies, crack jokes, and read Harry Potter. But I’m also an Art History major who loves to travel, play the piano, draw, and play ping-pong. My interests and talents are pretty diverse, but by far the most important and special thing about me is that I’m a Mormon :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. But I am also a convert to this church. Growing up, I had many opportunities to feel the spirit of the Lord intervene in my life. I had read The Book of Mormon and had had the spirit confirm to me that it was true. I had prayed morning and night to my Heavenly Father and had felt his endless love for me. I had fully repented of mistakes that I had made and had felt the kindness and mercy that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has offered each of us. I believed that nothing could lead me away from this wonderful church and gospel. However, not too long ago, I went through a time in my life when I was just done trying. I was giving up on everything. But my testimony of Jesus Christ, built from all the wonderful experiences I had had in the past lingered on within me and helped me get through. I wouldn’t know that Christ truly has gone through everything I have and knows my pains and weaknesses if it weren’t for this church. I wouldn’t know how God knows me personally and loves me perfectly if it weren’t for this church. I wouldn’t know who I am without this church. I know it is true without a doubt. It is everything to me.

How I live my faith

I live the gospel of Jesus Christ every day by sharing my testimony of the truthfulness of The Book of Mormon and this church with others. It is not enough to have this knowledge for myself alone because heaven would be a lonely place if I was the only one there! I want as many of my spirit brothers and sisters there as possible! I also try my best to read my scriptures and to pray to my Heavenly Father morning and night for strength and forgiveness so that I can become a little better each day. I have a firm testimony that it’s the little things we do each day that make a huge difference in the long run!

What is being a Mormon like?

Katie
To be honest, if you are a Mormon and are not living in accordance to the teachings of the gospel... you’re going to feel guilty all the time. Being Mormon is truly a lifestyle and if you can’t commit to it 100%, then it is going to be very difficult for you. BUT! If you DO choose to live the gospel 100%, I cannot even describe to you the absolute peace, joy, and perfect happiness that you feel. There is no greater feeling than the one you get when keeping the commandments and following the gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s pretty much it. Plain and simple. Being a Mormon means being absolutely giddy all the time. :) Show more Show less
