Hi I'm Miriam

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing the piano, weight lifting, and drawing. I also love going on cross-country trips with my family to see the beautiful landscapes of America and to learn more about our country's history. I plan on earning my teaching degree and becoming a mother in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active Latter Day Saint family. My dad's side of the family can be traced back to pioneer times as members. However, my mother converted when she was a young adult and is the only member on her side of the family. At the age of eight, I decided to make sacred covenants with the Lord. Why did I feel that I needed to be baptized? I knew that God lived and that if I was to ever return back to His presence that I would have to be perfected through Jesus Christ. Therefore, I had to be baptized to be cleansed of my sins. Why did I get baptized into the LDS church? I knew that this was the Church that God wanted me to be baptized in. Although I did not have a full understanding of the gospel, I knew that with time I would and that I would gain my own testimony of this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through who I am. As Elder Maxwell stated, "As you submit your wills to God, you are giving Him the only thing you can actually give Him that is really yours to give." On a daily basis, I try to make God's will my will. I want to be worthy of the wonderful gift that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have given me. I feel as I fulfill my callings at church, give service, and do my best to live my life as Christ would that I come closer to God. I know that He is pleased when I make righteous chooses and desire to fulfill His will. There is a peace and a confidence that comes when I live my covenants.
