Hi I'm Carlin

I'm From Las Vegas. I'm A Drummer. Im a MORMON.

About Me

My name is Carlin, I am in my 20s and I spent most of my life in Las Vegas, Nevada. I Love Listening to Music, Particualarly Rock and Jazz. My family has always been involved in music and I began singing when I was very young. It was just what we all did. Later in life I picked up playing the Trombone in the school band and eventually moved to playing the drums which has become rooted in my musical passion. After high school I played for a Reggae/Rock group called Live N Learn in Las Vegas and saved money to prepare to serve a full time mission for the church. I am now a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Florida and am loving it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be happy and at peace with who I am and my purpose in life. The Restored gospel of Jesus Christ has given me that peace that I have longed for at times of distress and loss in my life. I am fortunate to have loving parents of which I try hard not to take for granted who have raised me with the teachings of the Lord and his gospel. I have not always been confident in the things I was taught or the things I have read but as I have taken my questions to the Lord and sought his understaning I have come to know that he loves all of us enough to teach us of his fullness in these days and not just long ago.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing to keep the commandments of our Savior. I strive to be chaste. To take care of my body by not harming it with disfiguring it in any way or taking any form of drug or substance not prescribed to me. I Pray daily and study the scriptures, attend my church meetings and do my best to fullfill any task I am asked to perform. I strive to live the teachings of the Savior in anyway I can and I have seen the temporal blessings and enjoy the companionship of the Holy Ghost when I am doing whats right.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Carlin
Our Father In Heaven has asked us to take care of our bodies and has asked us to simply refrain from coffee tea and alcohol. We are promised health and strength and knowledge, which is good enough for me. If we do our best to take care of the body that God gave us we will strive to do other things, Like excersizing, eating moderately and eating healthy foods, seeking medical care when we are sick and following the council of trusted physicians. Those too I believe are ways that we show respect to our Lord for his gift to us, but all on the same principle that our body is a temple and if we are to recieve his spirit to be with us always, we must be clean and holy.
