Hi I'm Patty Katzmar

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother and a grandmother. My greatest joy in life has been found in these roles. I enjoy reading, especially mysteries. My favorite place to be is outside, walking with my grandchildren and observing the beauty of the world around us through their eyes.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that had no religious affiliation. I remember, at a very young age, looking at the petals of a daffodil and noting its color and texture. I knew then that this world was created by God. I wanted to know Him. As a young adult I went to many different churches over the years. I didn’t know anything about the Mormon Church. One day the missionaries knocked on my door. They gave me the lessons. I felt the witness of the Holy Ghost that what I was hearing was true. I was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the restored church of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the head of this Church. We are not left alone to find our way. We have a Prophet here on the earth today, called by God, to lead and guide us. The teachings and values of the Mormon Church sustain me and uplift me and show me a better way to live.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to stay close to the Lord. I attend my meetings each Sunday. I strive to study my scriptures every day. I pray to my Heavenly Father several times a day. I try to take the teachings I am learning in the scriptures and at church and put them into my actions in my every day life. I do my best to fulfill any callings that I am given in the church (right now I am teaching the little children each Sunday and I love it). I know these are the things that our Father in Heaven and Jesus want us to do. It makes me happy and it keeps me close to the Lord.
