Hi I'm Mabatho

I am South African, and I have been a Latter-day Saint for 13 years now!

About Me

Im an ex-introvert, but i now know how to socialize, and it's actually fun!!! I'm currently studying medicine, and i love it!!! I'm an auntie of three.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the church in 1999 when i was 7 years old. At that time i did not really know what i wanted so i joined it because my family did. My family and I were baptized that year. My father was the only one who wasn't baptized. As i grew up in the church, i realized that i have been living on other people's testimonies because i did not really have one of my own. At the age of 16, i decided to read The Book of Mormon from cover-to-cover, for the first time. After reading it, and praying about it, i knew that it was true! I know that the prophet Joseph Smith did really restore this wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ. It makes me happy, and reassures me that Heavenly Father lives and loves me; and that the Saviour Jesus Christ did suffer for me, that i may be able to return to the Kingdom of God. I am greatful for the trials and afflictions that i experience, for they are there to build me up and make me stronger. As hard as they may be, i know that the Saviour will always be there to comfort us and help us overcome them. I love my Heavenly Father and i know that He loves me. I will strive to keep His commandments because they are my directions back to His Kingdom, where i want to be.

How I live my faith

I am called as a primary music leader in my ward. Basically what i do is teach the children music. I love this calling because it reminds me of when i was still in primary. I also love it because i always learn something from those children. This often reminds me of how the Saviour wants us to become like little children. One of the biggest lesson i have learned from those children is determination. They would be very determined and excited to sing a song in front of many people, even if they don't know it well enough. I just love that spirit of confidence that is within them.
