Hi I'm Matthew

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 32 year old happily married dad of two and one one the way, a dentist, an avid rock climber, hiker, fisher, hunter, and pretty much any other outdoor activity that ends in "er". I've been married now for over 9 years to the love of my life. Even though we will soon have three little ones in the house we still manage to find time for each other and I actually think she still likes me.

Why I am a Mormon

My life is full of three things because I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and those are Peace, Happiness, and Hope. I grew up in the Mormon faith but was not a real believer for a long time. I never really cared about religion until one day I decided to find out for myself if I really believed that Christ was my Savior and that Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God. I prayed one night earnestly and an incredible peace and warmth overcame me and that is when I knew that I was not alone in this world. To go from not knowing that there is a God to suddenly realizing that there was much more to this life then just living it was a wonderful gift. Whenever I have trials come into my life and trust me they come, all I must do is pray and that wonderful feeling of peace is back. I have tried to find that peace elsewhere but I have only found it in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That happiness, that hope, that peace that I feel every day from living the gospel is why I am a Mormon. Without it I don't think I could make it in this world.

How I live my faith

Being a dentist doesn't allow one to carry on spiritual conversations with people that often because for one they can't talk with your hand in their mouths, but I try to live my life even at work as the Savior would. My way of showing my faith to others is by doing as the Savior would and show compassion to those in need. I love when I can make someone who is scared feel relaxed or help relieve pain to someone who is hurting. I know that as we help others even in simple ways they will feel the love of the Savior in their hearts through our actions.
