Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a masters student in speech language pathology. I love to be doing anything outdoors...camping, hiking, picnicking, enjoying nature, and even studying is better outside. I enjoy spending lots of time with my husband playing sports (like tennis), going on walks, cooking, talking, and laughing. I have a great passion for good music; I play the piano, organ, and viola which I have played in orchestras, musicals, and for special events. Over the past few years I've picked up the talent of doing floral design for weddings.

Why I am a Mormon

I love to be happy, and I always have. When I was a teenager I was going through a rough time and felt alone, and I wanted to be happy. I had a desire to know whether God really wanted me to be happy and how I could do that. So I started reading the Book of Mormon in earnest to find out the answer to my question. I read and prayed everyday for a few months, and one day I came upon a scripture that said "I speak unto you these things that ye may rejoice, and lift up your heads forever". In that moment this incredible feeling of peace and joy washed over me and I knew that the Book of Mormon, and the church, are truly God's way for me to find happiness in this life and the life to come. The more I learn of the God and keep His commandments, the more joy I feel. The joy of the gospel is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I spend lots of time with children in my field, teaching them and their parents about communication. I enjoy giving all kinds of service, from a summer spent teaching people in El Salvador to taking bread to neighbors. At church, I have taught classes about family history and how to be a better teacher. I have also been in the leadership of the women's organization, helping the women come closer together in helping each other feel loved and in giving service to others. I have also taught Sunday School on the New Testament. I also spent 18 months doing missionary work and service in Taipei, Taiwan.
