Hi I'm Elena Vasilachi

I grew up in Moldova. I love to travel and meet new people. I have tons of friends everywhere in the world, and i am a Mormon!

About Me

I am really outgoing person. I love to laugh and have a good time with my friends. Photography is a big hobby in my life. I have been traveling a lot and have been in so many places that never dreamed about. I have a big family, there are six of us. We love to have a good laugh together and watch movies. I am the oldest in my family therefore i tend sometimes to be quite bossy because of that, but my family still loves me. Family is the most important for me in my life. Even tho i do not have one of my own now, I am learning a lot of things that will help me to be prepared for the time to come, to create one, and i can not wait to have the joy of having a family and children, and loving someone dear to me. To me life is all about have lots of joy, and where you are right now is what you have chosen, I chose to be more independent and I moved far away from my family, I miss them dearly, but now definitely learned how to rely more on God and have great life experience that help me to be who I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 18 years old. Perfect timing to declare of your independence life to your parents. Meaning that at this age now you are eligible to make your own decisions but still preferably with your parents approval. When I decided to get baptized, neither my father or my mother agreed to that decision, but each one of them said something to me that helped me to choose what is right for me. My father always tell me this phrase:"the way you make your bed, that way you will be sleeping", if you think this path you have chosen in your life is good for you, then remember that you will have to live accordingly and prove to yourself it was a good choice. Then my mom was quite concerned of what I was doing and I only remembered what she had to say at the end of out conversation, that :"maybe one day I will believe this church is true as you do." Right that moment I had a thought, that later learned it was the spirit who whispered to me, saying that only through my example my family will know that this church is true. So, after a month of having investigating the church I got baptized, August 25, 2002. One of the most wonderful days of my life. I know that God our Father in Heaven loves each one of us so much, He is always watching over us. A few years later all my siblings have joined the church, as for my parents, the right time will come when they'll accept the restored Gospel in their lives. I know that my Savior lives and that only through his atonement we can be cleansed and forgiven. His love is eternal and grace is infinite, as we live our lives accordingly to His teachings then we are fully blessed. I am so grateful I was given the opportunity to meet the missionaries at that young age and be brave to choose what is right for me. I know this church is true, the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ, I know that Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet of God and to restore the true church of Christ here on earth.

How I live my faith

I love going to church every single Sunday. I love to be there with my friends where we could learn from each other about life challenges and how to overcome them. Share different experiences that will help to be a better person. My love to my Savior Jesus Christ is shown through my obedience to his commandments by serving others and other small things that people might think it is insignificant. For example, I learned that praying daily will bring the spirit of God in your personal life that will always guide you to make righteous decisions, protect you from harm, inspire you and most of all will comfort in time of need. To be there for someone to me is essential, there are many ways to show love and devotion but when you give your time and strength yo your Heavenly Father then the blessings just start pouring on you. Learn how to forgive and be forgiven is another thing i am still learning, but look forward for changes in my life to be the person my Heavenly Father wants me to be.
