Hi I'm Myrte.

I'm an athlete. I'm an adrenaline junkie. I believe everyone is beautiful just the way they are. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a highschool student who loves to smile. I try to be an example of the Savior in all that I do. After having five kids (me being the youngest) my parents got divorced and they both re-married. I'm an aunt of 14 wonderful nieces and nephews. I love the outdoors. I play Volleyball, Soccer, Softball & Basketball. I try to convince myself that I'm creative (even though I'm far from it.) I have the best friends. They are such a wonderful influence on me and have a great impact on my life. My family is everything to me. Without them leading me the right way, I don't know where I would be right now. I can't wait to turn 16. It holds many exciting opportunites that come with "growing up." I am a dog person, my favorite subject in school is Biology. I think scars are cool. I'm a city girl, who loves to go to her "country side" every now and then. And I'm a Mormon ;)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents are both members so it's the only religion I've ever known. I have gone to other churches before on a Sunday here or there with my friends, but for me, I just never was able to feel the spirit at all. And having the Holy Ghost is very important to me. I have had several oppurtunities to turn away from the spirit because of the hard trials I have been put through. I could have turned my back away from everything I have ever known because things that I have gone through were "too rough" but I kep that light burning inside of me. And because of that, I knew how to deal with those trials. I have a testimony that there is no such thing as a coincidence. Everything happens for a reason.

How I live my faith

I live my faith from the teachings in the scriptures to the teachings of the Strength of Youth. My parents are a big help in keeping my testimony burning. I love when people ask me how I am so happy all the time and I say that my beliefs are to blame. I have a strong testimony of this church and I know that it is true. I'm glad for the simple act of prayer. He answers all of them in one way or another. Every trial that we get it's because there is a blessing in return. God will always keep the door to Heaven open for you if you let Him.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is awesome. A lot people that I talk to, always say that they could never be a Mormon because there are too many rules. The first thing I say to that is that they aren't neccessarily "rules" they are guidlines that are encouraged for us to follow to be more like our Savior. Keeping these guidlines help me be like Him, and they make me feel good about myself. Being morally and spiritually clean help me be happy through out the day. It's not everyday that I feel like "What am I doing with my life? Why am I making these decisions that make me feel guilty about my actions?" When I do what my prophet tells me to do, it makes me feel like my Savior is proud of me. And that's the best feeling in the world. Show more Show less
