Hi I'm Katherine

I grew up in South Carolina. I am a high school teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school teacher, a gardener, a Marine Scientist, a beach go-er, a boogie boarder and I am a Mormon! What do I do in my spare time when I have some...I love the beach and love that I can spend my time off in the sand during the summer. I also got into a bit of gardening last summer and found that I really enjoyed that too. It was nice to see the fruits (and vegetables) of my labor. I enjoy various crafts and love to paint. I am a very passionate person and try to give my all in all I do.

Why I am a Mormon

Why...I know that God loves me as if I was an only child & I know who I am in God's eyes... I found myself a few years ago when I found my Savior! I was living a life where I felt lost...in a world where I didn't feel like I knew who I was. I had fallen on hard times & I was searching...searching for something that would make me whole. Amongst some crazy events, my best friend asked me to go to church with her. I had the most amazing & spiritual experience... a short time later, I went with her to speak with the missionaries. That night was so amazing that I can not describe in words and do justice to the feelings that I had. Those feelings scared be because I had no idea what they where. At that moment, I did not want to see them again. I was trying to grasp what had happened and had never felt the spirit so strongly. I had no idea what it was & what to think. I soon came to my senses and met with the missionaries again. I am grateful that the great shepherd left the 99 & came for the 1 lost sheep. He cared enough for my soul that he reached out to me & found a way to pull & lift me back up. I am grateful for those people in my life that have taken the time to speak to me about the gospel & help me find my way to being who I am today & for all of the knowledge Heavenly Father's plans for all of us & the comfort that knowing brings. Much like having a road map on a trip, you can figure out where you are going & how to get there. You probably won't take the path you laid out because there are always detours etc. but knowing where you are headed sure makes the journey that much more worth it. I am grateful for my testimony & having the opportunity to help another feel what I have felt with the gospel in my life. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that He LIVES! I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father who cares for me &you. I know that we are all children of God & that anything that is important to us is important to him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through thought, word, and deed. I try to do what I think that Heavenly Father would want me to do and live my life making Jesus Christ my ultimate example. I try to following the promptings that I feel through the Holy Spirit & being a witness for all that I stand for. As a teacher I have the opportunity to teach my students each and every day about respecting one another, being civil and kind, and I even try to show them that they are loved. Each and every person on this Earth is worthy of love and kindness. I try to be the best me that I can be and try to be a model of Christ's examples so that I can shine his light forth for the world to see. "But ye will teach them to walk in the ways of truth and soberness; ye will teach them to love one another, and to serve one another." -- Mosiah 4:15 -- "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." -- John 15:12 --
