Hi I'm Myra

I have lived in South Carolina my entire life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a newlywed of 7 months and love to play sports, be outdoors, and hang out with our 2 dogs. Also, I LOVE coupons! It is one of my favorite past times. After I buy groceries at the store, I always set everything out on the counter to see if my husband can guess how much I spent. Needless to say...he is always way off!!

Why I am a Mormon

Honestly, I never thought I would be a Mormon. You see, I converted to the church in 2008 and I am the only person in my family that is Mormon. I grew up in the Methodist church. We would go a lot when I was young, but as I got older we didn't go as much. I went to college and once I graduated and got settled I just felt like something was missing....I had an emptiness inside. I had heard about the church from some friends and decided to look into it. I had read some of the Book of Mormon, but thought talking to the Missionaries was what I needed to do. I tried to call the Bishop to schedule a time for them to come over, but when I called the church no one answered. I tried for 2 weeks. I was very discouraged. I wasn't sure what to do. Come to find out that being a Bishop is not what they do for a living like in the Methodist church. They have everyday jobs so no one was there is answer my call. I finally got a hold of someone and they were able to give me the Bishop's number. I left a message and he called me back. He said he wasn't used to having people call and ask for the missionaries to come to their house. He said they would call me and set up a time. I didn't hear from them and one day they were at my front door. I think it was a blessing they didn't call because I would have totally put them off from coming over. I let them in and they taught me a lesson. Once they left, I shut the door and started to cry. The Spirit they brought with them was so overwhelming and I knew The Church was true. Even though I knew it, it still took me a while to get baptized. Since that day back in 2008, my life has taken a complete 180 and I wouldn't change a thing!

How I live my faith

When I became a member of the church, I knew I was going to have to change some things and being the only member in my family was going to make it more difficult. I started to attend church every Sunday, it just became what I did. I became active in the church and met a lot of new people. I would go to church activities and that is actually where I first talked to my now husband. It is truly amazing how Heavenly Father works and how He does have a Plan for us. I haven't ever been this happy and I owe it all to Him for bringing me to The Church.
