Hi I'm Edene

I go to a Nazarene college. I counsel at a Methodist counseling center. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my prince charming and have learned through the years that it is up to me if he stays one. Marriage takes patience and tender loving care. I value marriage and believe everyone can have joy in it, if they work at it. I am in my last year of graduate school and then I will be a "real" Marriage and Family Counselor. The Nazarene have offered me a wonderful education in counseling and the Methodist's have given me an opportunity to practice my skills at their counseling center. It is wonderful to rub shoulders with those of other faiths and have respectful conversations about our beliefs. The more I learn of other faiths the more I come to appreciate and value the truths found in this gospel. I am a mother of five, one girl and four boys. They are the best education around (plus, the most expensive). The lessons I learn daily from them continue to change me for the better. Fitness and health are very important to me and I try to share my love of this with those around me. I am not perfect at it, but I continue to learn and try. Never stop trying to improve! I moved to a small country town a few years ago and have learned that I do like cowboy boots and big buckled belts.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raise in the church, but that does not mean I did not have to decide for myself. My parents have always been very open with me and realized that I needed to form my own testimony. After sharing the gospel with my boyfriend (now husband) I learned that I did believe the gospel is true and that it is a very good way to live your life. As the years have gone by and the trials have come and gone, I have grown more sure that this is the His gospel. Christ is a best friend to me. He can comfort me when no one else can. That support and comfort in my life helps me get through it all.

How I live my faith

I believe in living my religion daily, not just on Sunday. My morning starts with reading the scriptures and praying. As the day goes on I rely on the spirit that was set for me with that daily ritual. When I miss doing my morning routine I feel scattered and often very overwhelmed with my life. I rely on His gospel to guild me through my day. At the end of the day I say a prayer to give thanks for the day and to assess my short comings. I never beat myself up too much. I feel we are all doing the best we can. On Sundays I am honored to teach a Marriage and Family class. With my interests and education I have been able to share a few things with my class, while they teach me a ton. Everyones lives and experiences are so unique and a treasure to learn from. During the week I am in charge of the women's activities. We have two meetings and month in which we get together to learn and share with each other. We do crafts, food, education, but mostly we get together to give love and support to one another. Everyone from the community is welcome to any of the meetings the church has. We LOVE visitors!
